Dragons opened the season with a closely fought loss at Medway. The sides were level with five minutes left on the clock but Dragons were unable to hold on for the win.

Dragons Coach Chris Mellor said, ‘Whilst the result was disappointing there were plenty of positives for us moving forward’.

The following day Dragons eased into the second round of the National Cup with a comfortable home win over a youthful Childwall Basketball division 4 team winning all quarters and 110 – 35 at the final buzzer

Elsewhere for Dragons, Dragons U16 played a preseason friendly and then travelled to Hull Wasps for their first EBL game but went down 63 – 68 away to Hull with 14 year old Tyrique Pinnock scoring 15 and 12 year old Mate Okros dropping 12 points in this U16 game. Dragons 3 men played Leeds Tigers 2 in a Leeds cup game and lost 41 – 79 and earlier in the week lost 72 – 76 to Horsforth Hustlers 2 in their Leeds league game

Dragons 1 next home games are a double header weekend on Saturday 5/10/13 at 6.15pm for the National Trophy game against Tees Valley Mohawks and Sunday 6/10/13 at 6.45pm in the National Cup round 2 game against local rivals Huddersfield Heat, both games are to be played at Trinity Green sports hall, Bradford College, Trinity Road, Bradford BD5 0JE. Admission is £5 adults, £2.50 under 16s, concessions and students and family tickets [adults + 2 children] are £10. Admission is free for Dragons club members.
