Every so often during a game that flow is abated when players get fouled, resulting in either possession or a free throw. On Thursday the Powerball, an American lottery game offered by 44 states where the current estimated jackpot is $1.5 billion, was drawn. Yes that is Billion with a ‘B’. The New York Times reported that your chance of winning this jackpot was one in 292.2million (So you’re telling me there’s a chance?). Sitting there with a ticket in your hand you can’t help but imagine: what would I do with all that money? Now imagine signing a contract to play a professional sport, the salary reaching lottery-type numbers: what would you do with all that money? Former Dragons player Tamas Szlavik signs for Grasshopper Club, Zurich

Grasshopper Club Zurich (1LN) added to their roster 28-year old Hungarian forward Tamas Szlavik (196-80kg-87). He started the season at Bradford Dragons in British EBL D1. In two games he recorded just 2.5ppg and 3.0rpg this season. The last season Szlavik played at Veszpremi (NB I. B) in Hungarian league.
The previous (12-13) season he played at Soproni MAFC NYME (NB I. B) in Hungarian league. In 15 games he averaged 10.1ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.5apg in 2012-13 season. Szlavik played in the final of Hungarian League in 2007.
He has played also professionally in Hungary (Kormend).

Bradford Dragons snatched a 75-73 win against Kent Crusaders after JP Davis’ game-winner with a second to go. The home side recovered from a 5-point half-time deficit to book their place in the semi-finals. IT WAS a weekend of high drama for Bradford Dragons as they got their first league win of the season, beating Team Northumbria 73-69 on Saturday evening, but lost to Tees Valley Mohawks 92-81 in overtime on Sunday afternoon.
The Dragons were looking to exact revenge for Newcastle-based Northumbria's victory against them in the National Trophy four weeks ago. However, it was the visitors who got the better of a close opening quarter, taking a slim three-point lead into the first break.

High Flying Dragons show no mercy to rivals

Two weekend victories lifted Bradford Dragons to joint second in the English Basketball League National Division One table. Dragons slayed mid-table Tees Valley Mohawks 89-71 at home before cruising to a 90-59 win at basement boys Leicester Warriors the following day.
The Dragons’ team defence swarmed all over the high-scoring Mohawk guards on Saturday and a buzzer-beating triple from Nathan Ashley saw them go in at the first break 29-13 in front.

Bradford Dragons returned to form in impressive style with a 72-65 win against the Westminster Warriors in London.
Bradford are now back on track for a top-of-the-table push. They sit in fourth spot with a 12-7 record, while boasting the second best attack in the league, having amassed 1,461 points. Mid-table Bristol Flyers dealt the Dragons their heaviest reverse of the season as they won 93-60 in Bradford, before a trip to high-flying Reading Rockets the next day resulted in an 82-62 loss. Bristol stepped onto the court looking to avenge a heavy defeat in the return fixture and enjoyed an outstanding first quarter, landing almost every shot they took. But huge second-half contributions from Gabriel Diaz-Morera (23 points) , Josh Wilcher (11 points) and Danny Carter (eight points and 12 rebounds ) eventually saw Rockets to a well-deserved win.

Bradford Dragons dig deep to hold off Medway Charge
![]() A depleted Bradford Dragons side emerged 75-69 winners at Medway Crusaders to enhance their push for top spot in Division One of the English Basketball League. The Dragons currently sit third in the table but can draw level with the teams above them – Hemel Storm and Reading Rockets – if they win their games in hand.

Bradford Dragons denied after agony in overtime
