Bradford Dragons 69 - Huddersfield Heat 78
Dragons played their 2nd of back to back home games of the weekend hosting Huddersfield Heats Spanish armada in the National Cup.
The Dragons got off to a fast start only to be pinned back by a hot 3pt shooting Heat team. The first half was very much a back and forth affair with the Dragons holding on to a two point lead at the half, 32-30. The second half was much the same with a charge coming from both the Heat and the Dragons before a number of fast break points by the Heat broke the game out to an eight point lead for the red and yellow Heat. The Dragons huffed and puffed a final charge on the back of a Heat bench technical foul but came up short due to limited depth and foul trouble. Coach Mellor said after the game, "the Heat are a talented group of individual players who played well and on this particular night played better than the Dragons". |
