Membership Fees
BRADFORD DRAGONS BASKETBALL CLUB
MEMBERSHIP FEES 2008/9
1.The Club needs to have a pricing policy that shows that juniors do not pay as much as seniors and have a flexible policy for disadvantaged members.
2.The Club also needs to cover its expenses more from income, as the capital raised from fund-raising and grants will not last indefinitely, and may not be replaced from other sources. The Club is still in a financially precarious position.
3.The following seeks to meet these requirements:
a)the Club players should be strongly encouraged to become members, with the benefits including:
-being a Dragons player and being able to play for the team
-gaining membership of England Basketball, including insurance cover for injury, hospitalisation and
death in the course of playing or training
-play in EBL and other competitions
-option to extend insurance cover to higher levels at low cost
-reduced fee for training and coaching
-regular bulletins, newsletters and Club website
-further information by email
-chance to enter trials for West Yorkshire and Yorkshire teams etc
-free entry to all Dragons 1 senior men and other home games
b)the annual [season to April 2009] membership fee for 2008/9 is proposed as follows:
BOYS/MENS

Under 13s: £ 30 including EB membership fee
Under 14s: £ 40 including EB membership fee

Seniors EBL squad Over 20: £100 (including £35/£100/£210 EB membership fee dependant on whether UK, European or non European)

Under 18’s: £40 including EB membership fee
Non EBL senior squad (men and women) already registered with EBBA (e.g. students through BUSA registration or players registered to play local league with another club) will have their club membership reduced appropriately [e.g. Student with BUSA membership will be £40 for Dragons membership]. Membership fees must be paid before a player becomes eligible for selection. Only Club members can play in games representing the Club
4. Training & playing fees
-Club members training twice a week: £3 per training session and £3 per game home and away; or £20 minimum per month bankers order or £22 minimum cash at first training session per month (no discounts for holidays periods or missed sessions) to cover all training sessions and games. Dragons 1 players will pay a minimum of £25 a month bankers order. The bankers order is preferably for 12 months. The expectation is that players should normally be on a bankers order to reduce the administrative burden of collecting money and to give the Club an assured monthly income.
-U18 Club members also have the option of an annual [season to April 2009] membership of £140 plus their annual fee. Over 18 players will pay £160 (Dragons 1 EBL £200) plus their annual fee)
-Club members training once a week: £3 per training session and £3 per game home and away; or £12 minimum per month bankers order or £14 minimum cash at first training session per month (no discounts for holidays periods or missed sessions) to cover all training sessions and games. U18 members training once a week have the option of an annual [season to April 2009] membership of £80 plus their annual fee. Over 18 players will pay £90 (Dragons 1 EBL £200) plus their annual fee)
-Non-Club members: £4 per session, or £25 minimum cash [twice a week training] or £12.50 minimum cash [once a week training] at first training session per month (no discounts for holidays periods or missed sessions) with no option of bankers order
5.The Coaches and Team Manager/s, if in agreement and after discussing with Club officers, may waive or vary the membership fee, in exceptional circumstances (player too young to play matches; severely disadvantaged), or delay payment over the season.
6. A voluntary membership option is proposed for parents/guardians/relatives that support the Club as follows:
a)Full membership for £40, including right to vote at Club meetings, receive bulletins, emails, free entry to all Club EBL games etc.
b)Non-voting membership for £20. All rights except voting at Club meetings
c)Life membership for £150 minimum, larger donations most welcome.
7. Club officers, Team Managers and Coaches will be granted full annual [season] membership rights without payment of a fee.
