Bradford Dragons Basketball Club are delighted to announce the signing of Dave Walsh for the upcoming National Basketball League Division One Campaign. The 23-year-old shooting guard, a product of the Myerscough Academy, has developed a reputation as a three-point specialist from his hugely successful spell in Lancashire. |
The 2017/18 season, however, was his defining season at Myerscough College. A key member of the historic 2017/18 treble-winning team. The guard helped propel his team to a league-high 15-3 record in the NBL Division 3, as the team clinched a league, playoffs and National Shield treble.
Walsh scored 13 bench points in the playoff final against the East London All Stars, going three for five from three-point-range. Proving himself as a man for the big occasion, the three-point specialist knocked down four threes (4-6) off the bench, as Myerscough defeated Team Solent Kestrels II in the National Shield Final.
After spending the 2018/19 season with Myerscough in NBL Division 2, the shooting guard is raring to get going in the Dragons Den, “I’m grateful and excited with signing for the Dragons, after previous experience of playing in the Dragons Den.
He continued, “The fans always supported, and the team chemistry and culture that coach brings is extremely professional, and I’m looking forward to it.“
Coach Mellor commented, “I’m really pleased to have Dave on board with us. He’s a smart player who already has experience at this level.
“His ability to shoot from distance but also to create off the dribble makes him tough to guard, and I think he’s a great fit for us.”
