Mellor relieved to see Dragons through to Fourth Round!

Bradford Dragons secured their place in the National Cup fourth round, as they overcame second division Lancashire Spinners, in a game that Coach Chris Mellor described as a ‘tough battle’, on Sunday afternoon. The Dragons travelled home, from Bury, with a four point victory, at 92 to 96.

Dragons Secure Trophy Progression at Leicester!!

Bradford Dragons defeated Leicester Warriors by 77 points to 69, on Sunday, to secure their place in the quarter finals of the National Trophy.Dragons travelled to Leicester knowing that victory could be the difference between finishing third in their Trophy pool or losing out on a quarter final berth, by finishing fifth.  Leicester, on the other hand, had all but secured their progression, despite having lost away to Manchester Magic, the previous evening.

Calling all female basketball players in the Bradford District

We want to restart the Bradford Dragons women’s team with a training session scheduled on Thursdays at Bradford College, Trinity Road, Bradford BD5 0JE initially 7 – 8pm and then expanding to 7 – 8.30pm as we get more players. Sessions will cost £3 for 1 hour and £4 for 1.5 hours and will be coached by Coach Alex from Italy.

Dragons suffer from Travel Sickness in Newcastle

Bradford Dragons travelled to Newcastle for their first away fixture of the season, on Saturday, going down to a 71-58 defeat against Team Northumbria, in the National Trophy.

DRAGONS MADE TO WORK HARD FOR DOUBLE VICTORY WEEKEND!!!

What should have been two relatively straight forward victories for the Bradford Dragons turned out to be quite tense affairs, as they beat, division one rivals, Tees Valley Mohawks 84-76, at the Dragons Den, on Saturday evening, followed by a 74-72 victory against Killamarsh Derbyshire Arrows, on Sunday afternoon.

LAING AND HOLMES BACK AT THE DRAGONS DEN!!

Bradford Dragons have today announced that 24 year old shooting guard, Jermayne Laing, has re-signed for the 2014/15 season. 

Laing originally joined the Dragons at the start of the 2013/14 campaign, having previously played for local rivals Leeds Carnegie, who are currently competing in the British Basketball League.

YOUNG DRAGONS IN YORKSHIRE VICTORY

Four of Bradford Dragons’ junior players were included in the victorious Yorkshire under 15 boys squad at the annual Regional Development Tournament, held in Leeds this weekend.

Bradford’s Zion Tordoff, Eisley Swaine, Calum O’Dowd and Jayden Martin were all selected to represent the county team, which was also coached by the Dragons assistant coach Samuel Messam.
