With the dust only just starting to settle on what has been an historic season for the Bradford Dragons junior programme they are already starting their preparations for the new season.

Off the back of the Under 14 Boys appearance in the National League Playoff Quarter Finals they are set for yet another ground breaking season. Once again they will be led by Bradford Dragons Junior Programme Director Tamas Okros.
Dragons Chairman Stuart Culliford is excited by Coach Okros’ return, saying “We are delighted to welcome back a truly inspirational Coach – Tamas Okros- with a brief to redevelop the Dragons junior programme to emulate the success of the senior Dragons programme when our first men’s team have gained promotion to the national league [EBL] division 1 and our women’s team won EBL division 2 women and the National Trophy in their first season of EBL competition. We are looking for more young male players who will be in school year 11 or younger from September 2013 to train with us over the summer as Coach Tamas and his coaching team are developing the strongest ever Bradford junior teams to compete in the EBL. It is not just soccer and rugby league that is on the rise in Bradford, here comes basketball as well”

Coach Okros has a development plan in place for the for the junior basketball programme at Bradford Dragons saying “The programme goes further than basketball as a sport. It is about to building a BIG FAMILY environment. We`re not just basketball coaches but teachers who have been working with kids with the RIGHT CHARACTER.”

Coach Okros continues “We believe in good academic performance first, with a great attitude to life and talent second and third respectively. It`s no surprise that our slogan is, We believe in you”

Bradford Dragons are on the path to creating a junior programme that will enable them to turn local young players into future Dragons 1st team players or even national team members.

For more information on becoming a Junior Dragons players then contact Coach Okros on 07944662140 or email him at tamasokros@yahoo.co.uk

Coach Tamas Okros said, ‘If you are a young male player currently in Year 10 or younger, and you want to develop your basketball skills to play national league basketball, we want to see you at one of these sessions before the summer holidays as we are recruiting now for next season. We want to see as many new players as possible, don’t worry if you are still developing your basketball skills, we also want to see the players with the right attitude to learning that can become good players’.
