Dragons Scalp the Mohawks

The Bradford Dragons continued their impressive run of victories in the English Basketball League Division 1 competition this weekend. The fiery Dragons travelled to Teesside to take on the Tees Valley Mohawks in their fifth league fixture of the 2013-14 season.

The Mohawks got out to a quick start and led for the first seven minutes of play with impressive play from Ebanks at both ends of the floor. The Dragons were not far behind though and with a couple of great inside plays from American centre, C. McGrew, supported R. Sulcs with some fast breaking high flying basketball, the Dragons took the lead at the seven minute eleven second point and never looked back.

With a great team performance at both ends of the floor and some impressive high flying fast breaking Dragons Den basketball the Dragons went in to the half-time break leading by nine points.

The second half was a continuation of the first half for the in-form Dragons as they continued to play fantastic team basketball and extend their lead up to an impressive 26 point lead. The game ended 79 – 56 to the Bradford Dragons, Head Coach Chris Mellor following the game expressed his pleasure at the all round team performance and collective effort to play sustained team basketball and attributed to the team performance to good all round defence and multiple efforts throughout the game.

Next Dragons 1 home game is National League fixture against Leicester Warriors on Saturday 30/11/13, tip off 6.15pm in the Dragons Den, Trinity Green sports hall, Bradford College, Trinity Road, Bradford BD5 0JE.
