The victory solidifies the eighth seed for the Dragons, taking the team within four points of the seventh-seeded Derby Trailblazers, whom Dragons have a game in hand upon.
Dragons slain for first time in 2020
Bradford Dragons fell 87-74 in a tough Saturday afternoon defeat on the road against the Loughborough Riders.
The Dragons three-game winning run came to an end in the East Midlands, in a tight game, the visitors trailed in for all but one possession in the opening minutes of the first quarter.
In the first game of the weekend’s double-header it was the Riders who opened the scoring courtesy of Captain Reis Pinnock.
Dragons responded instantaneously on their first offensive trip down the floor with a three from Dave Walsh. The visitors sole lead of the game was quickly negated by the Riders.
Hitting straight back with a three of their own, Harrison Gamble put the hosts up 5-3, a lead the Riders would never relinquish.
