Dragons will unveil the new coach for the session on Saturday 10th October – Dragons star pro player from USA Nick Moore. Nick is playing his first season in the English National Basketball League division 1 for Dragons and has already made a big impression in the early season games.
Nick is a 6’6” power forward and played for the last two seasons for NYACK College in New Jersey where he majored in Computer Science and played in NCAA division 2 competition. He led NYACK in points, rebounding, field goal percentage and blocked shots in his senior year earning him the award of Most Valuable Player. He has also earned two consecutive call ups to the CACC All-Conference team.
Bradford Dragons chairman Stuart Culliford said, "Nick will be coaching the Zara U13 satellite club session for boys and girls Year 8 and younger and we are keen to see as many new players as possible who want to try out a new sport. Sessions cost £4 but the first session is free for new players. Basketball is a high skill, fast, safe mainly non-contact sport that does not experience the same level injuries as some contact sports. As the winter looms on the horizon, we play indoors so sessions are not cancelled due to water logged or frozen pitches. Basketball is a lot of fun to play and as a major world game second only to football, we are an inclusive sports club and we are delighted to welcome players from families from all over the world."
