Bradford Dragons are thrilled to announce that local boy Jermayne Laing is returning to the Dragons’ Den for a seventh season. The 6’2” former Leeds Force guard joined the Dragons at the start of the 2013/14 season and he has established himself as a firm favourite amongst the Dragons’ fans. Defensively, he has proved himself as an outstanding perimeter player, whilst his raw speed and agility also provides options at the other end of the court. |
Dragons’ head coach, Chris Mellor, is in no doubt regarding the value that Laing brings to his team. “Jermayne returning for another season is great news. Like Rihards (Šulcs), Rafi (Saipe) and Ricky (Fetske) he’s become part of the furniture at Bradford now.
“He comes to play defensively every single night and brings a level of calmness and tranquillity to the team when some guys will be losing their mind.
“His experience will also be a massive help of setting the right tone for some of our younger guys.”
The player himself added, “It’s going to be another exciting year at the Dragons. With the strong core of returning players, plus the new talent that will be joining us, I feel that this season will be very exciting.
“Being one of the longest returning players, I will be trying to give extra support to the new guys and helping them in any way that I can.”
